Private Visa

Private Visa Requirements (to visit your relatives or friends)

Documents for submittion:

  1. Completed visa application with attached photo.
    1. The frame size must be 3,5 x 4,5 cm (1 3/8" X 1 3/4").
    2. The Application must be signed by the applicant.
  2. Valid national passport.
    1. At least two pages of the passport should be free from notes.
    2. Passport is to be valid for 6 months after the date of the planned departure from the Russian Federation.
  3. Photocopy of the information pages of your passport.
  4. Official letter of invitation.
    1. The Official letter of invitation from the Russian host must be issued by the local office of the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation.
    2. The invitations must be submitted in original.
    3. Number of entries should be specifically mentioned in the invitation.
  5. Money Order payable to "the Consulate General of the Russian Federation".
  6. Non-Canadian applicants must provide the copy of the document confirming their current resident status in Canada (PR Card, Landed Document, Work Permit).
  7. No medical insurance is officially required for Canadian citizens. Citizens of Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland  should submit national medical insurance certificate valid for Russia or guarantee of medical coverage from a Russian hosting organization for all period of stay. Medical insurance certificate should contain Russian contact number for emergency or assistance. 
  8. Applicants who used to be citizens of the USSR or of the Russian Federation and then emigrated from the USSR or from Russia must submit one of the documents which confirms that they are no longer citizens of the Russian Federation (so called "Visa to Israel" or stamp in their passport saying that they left for "permanent residence abroad" before the 6th of February, 1992 or official document certifying that their Russian citizenship was renounced), otherwise the applications will not be accepted.

In case of emergency (unexpected serious case of illness, accident, death, etc. of close relatives) a private visa can be obtained within several hours upon the submission of a certified document from a Russian hospital or a notarized copy of a death certificate. Documents confirming relationship (change of name, if applicable) are required as well. Applications must be submitted at 9.30 a.m. strictly. Visas will be ready for pick-up the same day at 12.30 p.m.

In order to streamline and improve the visa obtaining process the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Toronto is no more processing visa applications by mail starting from the 1st of September 2011.

Please note that all visa application received by mail will be returned to the applicant unprocessed.

Оформление частной визы по заявлению о совместном следовании

12 марта 2010 года вступили в силу изменения, внесенные в Федеральный закон «О порядке выезда из Российской Федерации и въезда в Российскую Федерацию» от 15 августа 1996 года № 114-ФЗ.

В подпункт 4 статьи 25 указанного Федерального закона внесено дополнение о возможности выдачи визы иностранному гражданину по решению руководителя диппредставительства или РКЗУ, принимаемому на основании письменного заявления российского гражданина о совместном с ним въезде в Россию членов его семьи (супруга/супруги, несовершеннолетних детей, нетрудоспособных совершеннолетних детей). Указанные изменения относятся ко всем российским гражданам, находящимся за границей на законных основаниях.

Таким иностранцам оформляются однократные или двукратные обыкновенные частные визы на срок до 3-х месяцев с целью поездки «частная», для чего в Генконсульство России или в российский визовый центр в Торонто необходимо представить следующие документы:

  1. Заявление на имя Генконсула России в Торонто ;
  2. Визовая анкета (заполнить на сайте https://visa.kdmid.ru);
  3. Одна фотография (3,5 cм x 4,5 cм);
  4. Паспорт иностранного гражданина и его копия;
  5. Оригинал и копия Свидетельства о браке или Свидетельства о рождении (вместо оригинала допускается легализованная копия);
  6. Заграничный паспорт гражданина Российской Федерации (оригинал и копии страниц с фотографией и с действительной канадской визой или с разрешением на временное или постоянное пребывание);
  7. Внутренний паспорт гражданина Российской Федерации (копии страниц с фотографией и регистрацией по месту жительства, и для супругов – копия страницы с семейным положением);
  8. Оплата в форме Money Order на имя "Russian Consulate General in Toronto" в размере 112 канадских долларов для однократной визы, 179 канадский долларов - для двукратной визы;

    9. ВНИМАНИЕ: если брак официально не зарегистрирован, то подавать документы по этой схеме нельзя.
